Path increasingly expand its services. Following
in the footsteps of Facebook, the San Francisco-based company that
apparently follow-released standalone application (stand alone
application) nicknamed Path Talk. That is, in order to separate the social networking service with instant messaging applications.
Path Talk has officially launched for Android and iOS devices. The service is integrated with the phone number and contact list on the user's device. Users can add friends based on the phone number. However, the condition in question must have an account friends Path Talk beforehand.
Navigation tabs at the top of the Path Talk identical as Path. There is a user name, profile photo, and cover. Just like chat application in general, Path Talk has several menus, such as Message, Status, and People. In the upper right, the user can perform and the account settings menu what status you want to display.
Feature Message, serves as an introduction to the Path message. Not just sharing text messages, this feature can be used to send video and photos, share location, voicemail, and music. Users can also send a digital sticker downloaded 1,500 free and paid. Path Talk also lets users create a group chat. Path Talk focuses on privacy by providing a feature called Off the Record. The whole message is sent via the Path Talk will be deleted from the
server and the user of the device within 24 hours after the message was
sent.
Social network Path that was ascending in popularity, especially in
Indonesia, will change its policies related features a private messaging
service (private messaging) in it.
In their official blog post on Friday (06/06/2014), Path announced
that starting June 11, 2014, all messages sent through the Path to
fellow users will only be stored on the server Path for 24 hours.
That is, after the user sends a private message through the path, the
message is deleted from the server path within 24 hours (ephemeral).
While all the messages that are downloaded from the server path will
be stored in each user's device, until they log out, uninstall, or
update to a newer version of Path.
Therefore, if the user wants to save a particular message before the
entry into force of this new policy, they are encouraged to open and
save the message thread.
However, Path does not add special features to keep the old messages. Users are advised to copy just the conversation messages to other messaging applications, or make a screenshot.
As for the photo sent via private message, the user can save it to the
Camera Roll app for iOS devices, and Android devices feature in the
Gallery.
Voice messages (voice messages) and the video is said to Path can not
be downloaded and stored in the device, both in iOS and Android.
