WASHINGTON - Google has just released an update to the Google Maps application services for smart phones in iOS and Android . Reportedly , the update brings a number of special features , among others , can access Maps offline .Reported by BGR , Saturday ( 10/05/2014 ) , in order to enjoy the capabilities of Android and iOS users must first set it up .
First , the user can touch the profile button on the top right corner . Furthermore, scroll down and select mode " Offline Maps" .Find the area you want to keep as offline . In addition , this mode can store up to 6 regions . Phone Arena said , the region of the city of Paris just take as much as 6 MB of memory load .
When the area is too large to be stored , then I would suggest to re- zooming and save . Only after all that is done , users can enjoy features without an internet connection while activating the GPS .This facility is very useful when users travel to another country , in order to keep saving roaming charges .
Other features are also included in the update is , Sattellite , Terrain , Indoor Maps and 3D Buildings . But unfortunately , that particular feature can not be used offline .
