First Aid When Your Mobile Submerged (II)

6. Whisk phone
There may still be residing in the water below the headphone jack or any physical buttons. Gently shake the phone to remove as much water as possible.

7. Tomb into a dry rice
Turn off the phone and remove the battery, SIM and memory card along with its card. Take the rice and place in a bowl or tupperware container, then bury the phone into it. Rice serves as silica gel, which will suck up and absorb moisture. To make sure your phone is completely dry insert your phone in the rice a few hours earlier. If the phone has dried completely, replace the battery and try to turn your mobile phone.

Silica gel is a better option than rice, but it is rather difficult to obtain, especially when it is pressed.

8. Avoid overheating
To dry a wet cell phone, avoid the use of excessive heat. Such as using a hair dryer (hair dryer), heat lamp, or dried in direct sunlight. The right way is the low-pressure compressor or vacuum cleaner.

9. Wait until you are sure it is dry Mobile
The best thing you can do at this point is to give it time to dry your phone. The longer you wait, the more likely your phone will come back to life. The minimum amount of time you have to wait is 24 hours. You better give it 48 hours, or even 72 hours to restart the phone.

10. So how do I prevent this from happening again?
Easy. Do not bring cell phones into the bathroom. If you insist, you can always buy waterproof casing. Nowadays you can find one for almost any type of existing smartphones. Or you could just replace the phone with a waterproof model, most phones Sony already has a water and dust-resistant protection, or buy all outdoor phone.
