Android KitKat Has More Efficient Memory
Android 4.4 ( KitKat ) has been launched , of course with a number of interesting features .
Typically , a new version of the operating systems requires a higher hardware specification than ever before . Then the user device with mediocre specs smartphone should replace it with a new one , which is more expensive of course , in order to enjoy the exciting features in the new operating system .
But there is good news to Android 4.4 . This new operating system more efficient memory , which can be run on a device with only 512MB of memory . Memory is one of the most expensive components on a smartphone . So that smartphones with lower specs ( read : less expensive ) can still run KitKat .
Efficiency of memory usage not only on the operating system itself , but also the applications . Google introduces APIs and tools that help the developers to create applications that efficient and responsive to all devices .
Even the hardware makers can also customize the design according to the recommended Google Android 4.4 so it can run efficiently . Hardware designers can use new configuration options that not only help control the memory consumption , but also including graphics set the cache size , and other hardware level settings .
That way , the user is expected to Android 4.4 is not only the users who are able to buy high-end hardware , but also less expensive hardware . As said by Sundar Pichai ( Senior Vice President of Android , Chrome & Apps ) on his blog , Android 4.4 will reach one billion users next smartphone .
