Successfully Selling Smartphone, Lenovo's Profit Rises


Computer and smartphone manufacturers from China , Lenovo Group Ltd. reported a net profit in the third quarter . The increase in smartphone business contributed opinion and data server successfully offset the decline in PC sales .

The Company reported net income rose 36 % in the July-September period or exceed original projections . Lenovo said the company will make acquisitions in order to keep pace with business growth , especially in business computing that is expected to compete with IBM and Amazon.com .

Reuters sources said Lenovo was reportedly approached by BlackBerry that previously had to be sold .

According to research by IDC , Lenovo currently holds 17.3 % worldwide PC market IDC with net income of U.S. $ 219.7 million in the second quarter . Over the past three years , the performance of Lenovo's business grew by double digits . Second quarter of last year , Lenovo posted a profit of U.S. $ 162 million .
