Thanks to a new feature detection Hotword , you can say " OK , I " from the main menu ( or when enabling Google Now ) to instruct Google Search and Voice Actions . That means , your phone is ready to capture the sound , waiting for you to say a command word .
On one side of your phone can be a good listener , but the other side it will make your battery wasteful . So let me be more efficient advised to dinonkatifkan . How, go to Google Now> Settings > Voice , and turn off Hotword detection .
Use NFC as needed
Not a new feature for KitKat , but many people allow NFC active , even when not in use .
If the phone has NFC capability Ana , make sure the only active when you need it . To disable , go to Settings > More ( under Wireless and Networks ) > the NFC .
Do not sync all data
When entering the account to the phone , Google will assume you want to synchronize all necessary . Including the purchase of Google Play , Google's Keep , even photos . This photo synchronization that make extravagant . Every time you take a picture , I will upload the data to your account and then back again .
There are two ways to disable it , first go to Settings > Accounts , and then tap your account name to get into sync setup where you can disable synchronization options including the option " Google Photos " . Second , open the Gallery app > Settings , and disable Sync Google Photos .
Use Tool Battery
If you are still wondering why you still wasteful batteries , use the default power monitor , which displays the amount of power used per application .
To access the tool battery , find the Quick Settings icon , then press the battery logo . Here , you will see a full list of active applications .
Try monitor whether there are batteries that consume large amounts . Beyond the screen and networks ( such as Wi - Fi ) of course , but maybe you find an application that is not fair .
