Several years ago we still can distinguish easily between tablet and smartphone . But three years ago the line slowly faded thanks to a new phenomenon commonly known as " phablet . " Phablet -type devices is basically a device that has a wide monitor , the screen is larger than conventional smartphone and smaller than a conventional 7 -inch tablet .
Apparently there are a few people who does not like the term phablet . If you belong to that group , Samsung has a new term for you . Korean giant is trying to popularize the term " fonblet " . Device that we call phablet now turned into fonblet starting this weekend at Analyst Day event in South Korea .
Fonblet term is used several times by Samsung CEO JK Shin told investors on a conference call while delivering his presentation . Some of the sheets slide pushes through the internet also details the use of a new word in the company . Description of the fonblet Samsung is a mobile device that supports wide-screen handwriting . The device used is called a PDA , but it seems that moniker is not used anymore .
Some online news sites has also been using this new term and it seems Samsung is deliberately wanted uniformity fonblet as a new term for phablet . What do you think ?
