iOS & Android Compete in U.S. Tightly
CALIFORNIA - Research firm comScore released its monthly report on the survey of mobile phone users in the United States ( U.S. ) during August-October 2013. Through the survey revealed that users of the operating system ( OS ) Android rose to 52.2 percent and Apple increased to 40.6 percent .
While Android and iOS lead , BlackBerry is at number three with 3.6 percent market share , followed by Microsoft 3.2 percent , 0.2 percent and Symbian . While Android leads the smartphone OS market , Apple would be the biggest smartpohne producer with a market share of 40.6 percent .
Currently , users of smartphones in the U.S. reached 149.2 million people with a mobile penetration rate of reaching 62.5 percent during the three months ending in October , up 4.1 percent from July .
" Apple's first position as an OEM smartphone to smartphone users in the U.S. rose 0.2 percent from July , " said comScore , as reported by Mac Rumors , Monday ( 09/12/2013 ) .
The most popular OEM position behind Apple are Samsung with 25.4 percent market share , Motorola 7 percent , HTC 6.7 percent , 6.6 percent and LG .
