Motorola Hoping Assembled Mobile to be a trend


Motorola Mobility in October 2013 opened the projects that allows a number of hardware components in a smart phone can be changed as the user desires .

The Google -owned company hopes the project could become a trend so that the phone can be assembled tubs personal computer (personal computer / PC ) .

The ambitious project was named Project fig . Motorola Mobility CEO Dennis Woodside argues , it is part of the company's plans for consumers to be more involved in the construction of a smart phone .

" Moto Maker ( assemblers smart phone - red) is the beginning of a long-term story is interesting . Ara Project has come out . You can see how the two are mutually binding , and how we introduce new material to Moto Maker will pursue something across our product line in the future , " Woodside said in a video interview with Marques Brownlee uploaded to YouTube .

One of the Project 's mission is to make mobile phones with Ara best components at low cost . Motorola promises components with varied materials , including wood . The ultimate goal is to enable consumers to be able to customize components in Ara Project .

" That's where the line between Ara and what we do with Moto Maker may be met . But it will take time , " he explained .

However , Woodside did not specify what product lines or components that will be issued in the future Ara Project . He just said , " maybe " new releases every year . " We're going to see in the future . "

One of the concerns in the Ara Project is adjusting hardware with software to improve performance . There are also concerns the hardware components will be missed considering the growth of the software so quickly , especially Android .
