HTC Smartphone will Extinc?
TAIWAN - HTC Smartphone threatened pulled in Germany after a local court in the country ruled that the company violated patents owned by Nokia . Nokia wins patent against HTC in Germany .
Reported by Vr - zone , Thursday ( 01/02/2014 ) , the patent in question has the code name of EP1148681 . This patent is a method for transferring information between two handsets via Bluetooth or NFC .
Reportedly , this patent is not protected by FRAND licensing terms . This is a non - standard essential patents , which means its use is not crucial to the function of the device .
With the winning of this patent by Nokia , the Finnish company to call for banning the sale of all HTC devices in Germany .
This HTC device can be pulled from retail stores and includes all the Android handsets , including the One series . HTC is trying to collect consumer appeal for besutannya devices .
Ban HTC devices in the country becomes a significant blow to the Taiwanese manufacturer . Reportedly , this patent is not only used on HTC devices , but all Android handsets .
Google is also reportedly in talks with Nokia over licensing requirements . Details about what the Nokia agreement with Google is not yet known .
